Container stuck at Brissy - arrived 14/1
Hi All,
Wondering if anyone is in the same boat (not literally of course!)
Our stuff arrived at Brisbane 14th Jan (we used Excess Baggage, half a 20ft container) but it has not been inspected yet by immigration etc. Excess are using Kent Moving to handle the Oz side for us, and they are very nice and trying to help when I call but don't have any updates on timing.
They told us that the normal 3 week turnaround was delayed by a week due to Christmas closure, so Saturday coming will be 4 weeks for us. Does anyone have any insight into the timelines at the moment?
Ta,
Stella

Ours arrived in Fremantle on the 19th December & was cleared 2 weeks ago, so it can take a while. We are using Kent (local PSS agent) as well 7 find them to be very helpful. We have put our container in Storage ($38/week) until we move into our new house at the end of the month.

I think having a shared container can slow things down a bit. Hope you get your stuff soon.

Hey thanks all for the feedback. I keep calling the agents and they tell me to keep calling, so at least they are not getting narky with us!
We are surviving without our stuff (bought the essentials) but it will be nice to have it here - familiarity and all that. Plus with me not working yet (applied for another 3 jobs today) it is convenient for unpacking etc - probably regret it when it does come though - 80 boxes! ugh. We just know we will unpack things thinking 'why did we send THAT!' :scared:

there are a few things that i've thought .. why oh why .. but we didn't bring that much, my big tv a few other techie bits, loads of photos, books and all my daughters toys .. so all in all everything we've brought we have found a use for ..
saying that we have a couple of rugs that looked nice and big back home .. here they look like postage stamps

Could be worse - ours took 3 months in Brisbane port sitting there whilst the stupid customs computer didnt do its thing....
Oh and for anyone shipping a motorbike in a container, that alone will add a couple of weeks onto your wait.
From what I hear though the backlog has eased a lot now.

Our stuff arrived in Brisbane on 21/1. My husband phoned today to chase up and they said its still stuck at the port and they're waiting for it to be moved. They said it will about another 1-2 weeks. Very frustrating, but it'll be so good to get it all...........eventually!
