Confused - Driving Licence
Hi
Probably got my knickers in a knot over this one and there is probably a very easy answer (I hope so - this know isn't very comfy!)
As I understand it, you can drive on your UK licence for up to 3 months and can swap for an Aussie passport during this time without having to take a test. How does it work if you validate but don't move permanently for a year afterwards?
Don't want to redo test so could apply for new licence on reccie if necessary.
Thanks
Adi

You only have 3 months to change it over when you take up residence, so if you are only coming for a short while, you won't be resident. Also to swap your licence over you'll need a permanent address and proof of that you're resident (so some bills, medicare card etc), so you won't be able to get one on your reccie.
When you arrive permanently, you'll be able to just swap it over, with no test.
