Hi Guys, Well 5 weeks after AHC in London received my prospective spouse application I have received a letter confirming receipt of migration application. I guess this is a start at least I have a file number and case officer. The letter states the average processing time for my type of visa is currently 6 months, do I start the countdown from when they actually received my application or from receipt of this letter.

I get married on August 17th 2002 in Queensland and am now panicking that I will be arriving on the day!!! Has anyone else applied under the same catagory, if so could you give me an idea how your application is going and what kind of time frame I am realistically looking at.

You didn't say which catagory,

I applied under company sponsored immigration, once I got my confirmation everything
just slotted into place and I had my visa in my passport within 3 weeks, even though
I was told 4 months.

Also did you let them know when and why you had to be in Oz (it helps).

don't worry, you can always change the date of the wedding. I did that after I
arrived in Melbourne (well, we changed to an earlier date as we couldn't wait .
