Concord Sydney Rent Prices
Rent prices in Concord seem really reasonable in comparison to the rest of Sydney 400AUD- 600AUD per week for good size 2 bed or above house or flat. Is this a bad area to live in ? I will be working in the CBD.
Where else should I look to get a good sized place with outdoor space if not?
Any advice would be great.

I absolutely love Concord!!
It's near the water (Parramatta river), near the main road into the city. It's near enough to the city but also far enough away.
And it has it's very own 'village' feel about it. There is a lovely street with cafes, restaurants etc.
It's beautiful!
Google it and see what you think!
Majors Bay Road is the main strip - do street view and see for yourself!

And it is not a bad place to live in at all.
You can get the ferry into the CBD if you are near Cabarita (which is just above Concord on map. There's no better way to travel in - no sweaty armpits in your face - just the river and the breeze!
Or you can get the train in.
Both train and ferry may be a bit of a walk depending on where you live.
Oh and make sure you get all documents together for rental - so references, proof of money in bank etc - it is very competitive out there!

Any idea then why rent prices appear to be so good. Looked at City Centre Randwick Coogee and Manley?

These places are much more trendy and closer to the sea which attracts premiums. Never been to concord but know people who live there and they like it.

What's changed is that there has been a LOT of new development on old industrial sites nearby (Cabarita, Breakfast Point etc) which has caused a bit of a change of demographic in the area and lots of new residents. The result is now a good Eat Street with plenty of cafes and restaurants. It's a perfectly acceptable suburb but it wouldn't be the buzziest, coolest place to live - which is reflected in the rents.
I'd have thought it would appeal more to families than singles.

I know this place really well, I used to live in Croydon and drove through Concord to and from work. Plenty of Parks, reserves and a golf course.
Like posted before has a village feel (Small Coles, Bottle shop & pharmacy etc) and is close to Rhodes & Burwood major shopping centres. Pop down the road to Five Dock or N Strathfield for restaurants.
Close enough to west Concord or Burwood train station... Parramatta road can be a Sh*t.
5 minutes drive to Olympic Park.
