Not trying to be difficult mate, but how far are you willing to commute, timewise?
Only its a "how long is a piece of string" question otherwise. I have 4 mates who commute from Brisbane to Cairns at present, admittedly on a weekly basis, but give us more info and we can more helpful.

Have you looked at the Springfield Lakes or Brookwater area?
New suburb which is the fastest growing area of Brisbane. You will find info on www.delfinrealty.com.au.

This is where we are headed and we love it

Anywhere in Bayside Brisbane is under an hour. Cleveland, Viccie Point, etc. I travel to the CBD during the week and its an easy drive. The train takes longer than the car

Also, you need to consider what you are looking for in a suburb. I am a big fan of the 'original' suburbs, nice Queenslanders, nice feel about them. At the weekend I ended up in an area I've never been to before, one of the more recently built suburbs, and it was full of brick houses (nothing wrong there, but I do love my Queenslander) and felt a bit sterile. It may have something to do with the burb being designed before being built, whereas the older suburbs just evolved.
