Default Commuting to Brisbane from Gold or Sunshine Coast

Hi,

Does anyone commute into Brisbane from the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast?

If so, how long is it taking you and what's the journey like?

Thanks,

Paul.

Not in brissie yet but i would imagine its quicker from the Gold coast than Sunshine coast probably about 40 mins.

I have been to both while visiting brissie and it was a lot further from Sunshine coast to brissie about 1+ hours

hope this helps

regards

Carrianne commutes from Caloundra. She drives to Caboolture and then gets the train from there. Send her a pm, I am sure she will help.

Depends what time you travel and where in Brisbane?

Gold coast to Brisbane in rush hour 1 1/2 to 2 hours

Sunshine coast to Brisbane in rush hour 2 hours +

Done it loads of times and in spite of what people say the rush/commuter hour is the same pretty much everywhere (solid traffic)

The train from the Gold Coast takes 1 hour. Bewarned, there is only 1 every half hour though.

There is no train to Sunshine Coast.

My hubbie was commuting up there and enjoyed it, everyone pulls out their laptops and makes use of the time.

Heaps of Brisbanites come down every weekend too, which you may want to consider.

Great, but can you get a seat or like here do you spend 20 minutes waiting for a train then have to stand? How much is a return train ticket to Brisbane from the Gold Coast?

Cheers

The fare is about $50 for a weekly or maybe $17 per day.

The suburbs from Coomera north are filling out fast and getting a seat from there is already difficult and getting more so. Helensvale and Nerang are still fine for a seat.

Helensvale to Central is just over an hour, depending on the sevice. Helensvale is the northern most end of the Gold Coast.

Fares for Helensvale to Central are shown here http://www.citytrain.com.au/plan_you...=BNC&FareDate=
$53.20/week.

Add 10 to 15 mins plus $12/week from Robina to Central.

Jackos times for commute from Gold Coast by car are fairly typical.

Thanks for the train fare info, that really does sound like a good deal, especially if the trains are clean and punctual.

I'm paying £280 per month for the train journey from South-East Essex into London (Zone 1 Underground) and I end up standing most of the time

Just checking this, but did you mean $ and not £

A monthly ticket for zone 8 (Caboolture) is now $153.60, compared to a daily ticket of $9.60.
