Commonwealth Bank Insurance services

One of our Insurance policies has just come up for renewal, so we checked around for new prices. Commonwealth Bank (CommInsure) was charging $500 for the year, but the NRMA did it for $353, same values, same cover. So we changed, and advised the C.B. we would not be renewing. However, we pay by direct debit, so they were still able to debit the premium !!

But we got a letter back saying they will send us a refund cheque less $20 cancellation fee !!!!

The policy expired on Dec 30th.
The 2005 premium was debited on Dec 31st, and the letter advising of the refund was also dated Dec 31st. They obviously realised the error very quickly, but decided to charge us $20 due to their error !!

Now I just have to word a nice letter to them, to let them know I want my $20 back :)

ABCDiamond,
I love banks! ;) God bless them!

you give them your money & they treat it as their own.
What's your's is there's, literally.

Keep on trying, let us know how you get on.

I got the first part refund back, followed by the remaining $20 a few days later. (about 8 days after my faxed letter of complaint).
No letter of explanation, no comments, just a cheque.

But at least I got it back :D It may not be much, but it's MINE ! :)
