commonwealth bank

cannot reccommend them highly enough

got our visas then applied for an account with them, watched the exchange rate today and then transferred the money across to oz account (no charge) and only 1 cent below the exchange rate

so now we have an account in oz paying 4% on our savings a credit history and instant access to our money when we get over there

champagne has flowed today

but still literate

arlene:) :)

no stopping us now fly out 1 week today

Hi Arlene,

The streamline (current account) or the Cash management ( high interest account ?.
I'm just browsing the application forn now, and need to sort something out soon.

Arron.

Another question (sorry).
Did you use the forward purchase facility for Australion Dollars ?

arlene May 17th 2004 6:38 am

aaron no we waited until we got the house money and the rate was so good at 2.57 that we decided to go for it

the beauty of the account is that you can see the exchnage rate on the telly and as soon as it hits a high you transfer it with no charges within minuites

we can live on the interest it pays over there

How did you apply for this account? Was it online? Did you phone somewhere? I would appreciate your reply as this sounds Ideal for me.

What are they charging you and is the 4% instant access or a term deposit? What is the annual fee on the credit card?
