Hi all

Can anyone tell me what is the most common car on the road in Australia.
The reason i am asking is when we come over we want to buy a second hand car with the cheapest parts to buy if repairs are needing done as it can be quite pricey

Holden is probably the most common make over here followed by Ford and Toyota. Try looking at Red Book http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au/ which details new and used cars for sale. You will be able to get an idea from there of the more common cars over here.

I think I read somewhere that it's the Toyota Corolla. Even if it's not, Toyota is one of the most reliable manufacturers around. Avoid the American manufacturers, Holden & Ford.

We're just back from Perth and it seemed like every second car on the road there was a Subaru Forrester, closely followed by Toyota Landcruisers

Holden Commodore, Ford Falcon, Mitsubishi Magna, Toyota Camry. All built in Australia and there are loads on the road. Of all of them the Camry is probably the best bet as it comes in a 2.4 litre 4 cylinder.
