Coming to Australia 2011
Hi
I am finishing my nursing degree in January 2011 and my partner is a qualified mechanical technician (oil and gas) but can work in other sectors. We were looking into going to Perth next year.
Just wondered if anyone could share any experiences that are relevant to our situation. I am quite keen to do a Graduate Nursing Program but the one in Western Australia is only open to Australian Citizens/Residents at present, however it does say that it could open to international applicants if the still have positions to fill.
What sort of wages should we both expect? Are jobs easy to come by?
Thanks
Suzanne

If you don't have visas - if you were to sit tight; finish your degree and get enough UK experience you would be in a much better position for a visa and job - your partners skills would I imagine, place him in a very good position in WA [although he may end up working away from home]. There is a offshore equipment/maintenance company next to my office and they have a permanent advert outside looking for staff.
