Come see the sealife

Come see the sealife
Whale spotting season is back in South Australia.
We popped over to neighbouring Middleton and Pt Elliot today to try our luck, and spotted a Southern Right Whale, about 20 dolphins and 7 seals, all playing in the same area.
Got some photos of the dolphins, couldn't time a good shot of the whale.

The whales are around most days now. Still no calf sightings so far.

The whales have been around Middleton (SA) for about 2 weeks now. Easy spotting.
Today I saw a couple of them swimming around a surfing class..

Bugger, I return from Adelaide airport having dropped off my brother in law to find my wife had watched the whales from our balcony in Goolwa, jumping and tail flapping. Unfortunately she's not great with the camera, so there's too much blur to share the pics. Sightings here in Goolwa are rare, so I'm really jealous.
Anyone in Adelaide wanting to see whales, head down to Middleton ASAP because they have whales and calves there on a daily basis at the moment. Best place to view is usually Surf St at Basham Beach.

Re: Come see the sealife
I'v taken more whale photos in the last week or so if anyone's interested...

There are 3 or 4 adults and 3 calves at Middleton's Bashams Beach every day now, easy viewing with the naked eye at times since they come right up close to the beach, probably 30m from the sand !.

Bloody wales. Always swimming about and making a nuisance of themselves.
Just wait till they start singing late at night, after they've had a few pints of plankton!
