Hi Col,
I can't seem to get the smilies. I've tried clicking on them and it says "smilies are on". Only way it to type : with a )

but do you always have to type them out to get them to work, I thought you could just click on the pic of the smilie?????

Yes it looks like the only way to get the expressions is to click on smilies are on in the forum rules box at the bottom of the page.
I suppose once we've used them a few times we'll remember what to type in rather than keep going to smillies are on...
I still want a dancing diva though! Julie

Longhand means you write the code for the smiley, eg for the dancing diva it's colonPARTYcolon but using real colons. Colon is :
The other longhand codes can be seen if you click on 'Smilies' in the box in the very bottom left hand corner of your screen, you may need to scroll down to see this.

OK mose over the image, in the bottom left hand corner you will see the code you need to input don't input the brackets most will just be a simple two dot with a caracter. Now obiviously this won't work if smiles are off!
Have a go play try doing a preview before you post to see if it has worked. BTW if the text is lower case IT MUST BE IN LOWER CASE!!!!!!!! and vis versa!
