Default Coarse Fishing in Melbourne

Hi All,

Hope someone on this forum can help my hubby!!!!!!!

He's a very keen coarse fisherman and takes part in many matches here in the UK. Whilst we are aware that coarse fishing is not as popular in Oz as it is here in the UK, it does exist.

Wonderring if anybody in Melbourne knows anything about coarse fishing in particular.Just to say it needs to be "Coarse" fishing not sea or fly fishing as this is completely different( so he tells me).

Many thanks

Tracy and Neil

Cool Re: Coarse Fishing in Melbourne

It's all coarse; we're uncultured Aussies!

There is plenty of coarse fishing in the southern states.

It will be mostly carp but there are Roach and Perch in the yarra river and Tench in many of the lakes in Victoria. There are also the native species.

There are also plenty of coarse angling clubs.

Carp/coarse gear will also be fine for much of the sea fishing off the shore.

Tight lines
