I haveFound that the international brands are the same. However some Australian brands can be a size out. Shoes are American sizes so about two sizes bigger.

Shoes sizes are confusing !

My daughter wears sizes 3, 4 and 5. Different brands, but same physical size shoes, just different numbers.

Always try things on, or ensure you can return them.

My own shoe sizes are the same as they were in the UK.

Yup the shoe size thing is really silly here - my hubby has the same size feet as me , back in the uk we were both size 8, but here i am size 10 while he is still an 8 (I wear his trainers sometimes and they fit just fine!) Go figure...
Shoes in that size for women are quite limited too.

I find the womens clothes sizes are mostly quite generous over here - but it does vary from store to store same as back in the UK.

As ABC mentioned DO check the returns policies though if you are not trying things on - it is very easy in the UK but a lot of stores here make it harder. (and most won't give you a refund just because you have changed your mind/ things dont suit you - which I used to rely on a lot in the Uk and not try things on til i got home).

You'll be fine, don't worry. Places like Target are very generous in their sizes and you've got French Connection, Karen Millen, Ted Baker etc which are all exactly the same as UK (but more expensive!!!). Have a look at Witchery or Country Road to get an idea of what the equivalent of the UK high street is like. As others have said - womens shoes are + 2 sizes so a UK 4 is an Aus 6 but mens sizes stay the same. Mens collar sizes are in cms not inches, so a 15.5" collar is about a 40cm.
