Hi All
Civil Servant of 25 yrs seeking OZ emigration, process started.
Any fellow Civil Servants made pension arrangements before/after OZ ?
Replies appreciated , seems a bit of a minefield.

Hubby has a civil service pension. We have it paid into our bank account which happens to be in the Isle of Man then it is transferred to our account here in Oz. Obviously there is a transfer fee so we have it done every couple of months. From memory government pensions couldn't be paid directly into an account overseas but that may have changed - worth checking. We have an Australian Tax file number which means we are not taxed in the UK any more.
Hope this helps.

My brother ,who lives in Texas, has his pension paid into his Bank of Scotland account and just uses his B of S card to draw on it in the States. I'm sure oyu could do the same in Australia. It would save you the transfer fees.
