Citizenship Test (Full Birth Certificate)
Hi,
Most of the people in Australia are born overseas (Migrants).
My friend dont have his overseas birth certificate with him.Can he still sit in the citizenship test with his original passport/PR visa?
Thanks,

Re: Citizenship Test (Full Birth Certificate)
What you need to bring:
You must bring the following original documents to the test:
· A full birth certificate;
· Passport or travel document with which you used to enter Australia and all other passports or travel documents you hold; including evidence of your permanent residence status
· Other identification which together includes a signature, photograph and correct address (e.g. driving licence, credit card or utilities bill).
· If applicable, official evidence of any change of name (eg marriage certificate, change of name certificate - usually from an Australian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages).
If documents are not in English you need to bring originals and official certified translations done by a NAATI-accredited translator. Please go to www.naati.com.au for assistance if necessary.
He needs his birth certificate and he needs a certified translation if it's not in English.

Re: Citizenship Test (Full Birth Certificate)
Not everyone from certain countries has a birth certificate. DIAC deal with this from an immigration point of view, and it can be dealt with from a citizenship point of view. However, it probably means a delay in processing.
