citizenship question.

Hi. Does anyone knowwhat would happen if hubby does citizenship test ,and I dont, what would happen with regards to our children, both under 16. Would they be australian citizens like him, or would we both need to do it for that to happen.
Thank you.

When an adult applies for citizenship, they can put their children on their application. You can put a child only on one adult's application, not both, however, more than one child can be attached to that adult's application. Does that make any sense?

My partner and I did ours this year and both kids were on his application only and so both children got citizenship when he took the pledge at the ceremony. Their names were called right after his and I got called on my own.

So the short answer to your question is yes, they can become citizens with your husband only. Why would you choose not to become a citizen if your husband and children did though? Or maybe you won't qualify at the same time?

I can confirm that. My child got his citizenship with me when I sat the test and attended the ceremony. My wife has yet to sit the test.
