Default citizenship changes

Hi
Could someone please update me on the change in the citizenship policy. I am aware its changing from 2 to 3 years but not sure about the bit about continious 12 months before application.

A bit confused

Thanks

Don't know for sure but I think will remain 12 months, 24 months isn't good at all! probably 12 months

Best asking JAJ for the low down, but I think the changes kick in this June/July (I wait to be corrected;-).

This is the current requirement...

4. I would like to become an Australian citizen but I haven't been in Australia long enough
To apply for Australian citizenship you would need to have been in Australia for at least 2 years as a permanent resident in the last five years. This time must include a total of twelve months in the two years immediately before making your citizenship application. The twelve months does not need to be continuous.

Thanks for that but i am guessing it will be a longer period than 12 months when it goes from 2years to 3 years

We're 3 days in to our second year so time to start reading up on this.
