Default Citizenship

I have heard that after completing the Australian Immigration process, if I go there for few days and return back to my Native country, then also I can apply for Australian citizenship after 2 yrs. I mean is there any need to physically remain in Australia for 2 yrs for getting the Australian citizenship.
