You jammy beggars!

We were in Burleigh on Holiday in September and were looking at the beach on webcam (Christmas Eve, UK time)

Hope you had a good day!

Hi Simba
We were on Burleigh Beach yesterday too, cant believ how busy it was, it was our first Aussie Christmas and it was so nice to be away from all the hype of th UK it just felt so relaxed.

This is our 3rd Aussie Christmas, UK style hysteria just a distant memory. We went to Broadbeach at 5:30pm yesterday to 'blow away the cobwebs' and the parklands were still full of people. The beach was also busy - a good way to finish a great day. After I close my shop today at 1:00pm we are off to Currumbin beach (hope I spelt it right!).

Is it going to be busy over the next couple of days ? Just thinking of popping down to see the beach, but if parking etc is a nightmare then we're wait until the new year.

As it was our first we were not sure if it was going to be busy or not, as soon as we got on the Pacifc motorway we both said it's going to be busy, there was loads of traffic heading towards the coast.

Hey you old timers when's the best time to stake a claim to a patch of beach on NY eve for the fireworks? apparently you can also watch the Surfer's display from there too.

Am considering it. The kids have other plans so we might pop down.

We remember when we was back in the UK watching this:

It was in the afternoon (Midnight in Oz) and seeing them go into the new year, wishing we was there! ... so it makes sense we see what it's all about.
