Default cholera vaccination

This is probably a stupid question, but i'm going to ask anyway. When we left Australia in the mid 70's and came back to the UK, we had to have the Cholera vaccination. Was this because we came back via Singapore. Do you still have to have this if going this route either way. I hope not as i have a phobia involving needles etc. I had 2 injections for this and passed out both times. The blood tests are going to be bad enough

You don't need a cholera vaccination for Australia
