Default CHILDCARE IN PERTH

Hi there,
We are moving to Perth, end of the year and am looking for a nanny.
Has anybody had any experience in hiring a nanny or au-pair in Perth?
If so, what has been the experience and please forward any contact details or names please!
Many thanks
Deepa

Hi Deepa

It's still rather unusual for Perth people to hire a nanny, especially a live-in one. The vast majority of people use child care centres, or family based day care, which means they take their child to the centre/home and pick them up at the end of the day.

There are a few agencies that advertise nannies for hire, you can find them easily enough by Googling, but a lot of the money you pay will be for agency fees with the nanny being paid the remainder. Young people on working holiday visas look for nanny work by advertising on Gumtree, not an avenue I'd use to hire someone to care for my children but some people don't seem to mind.

Plus you can't get child care benefit unless the care provider is registered...
