Default Child Benefit?

Arriving in Brisbane at the end of this month on 176 visa. DO we get child benefit?? If so how do we go about getting it???

Family Tax benefit - if your income is under the limit then yes you should. Just rock up to any Centrelink office and fill in the forms http://www.centrelink.gov.au/interne...ents/ftb_a.htm

But beware, if your income rises above the thresholds, (and this is calculated annually), then you may have to repay some or all, after July 1st.

You can amend your income estimate during the year though. I did ours online www.familyassist.gov.au and they said that the change was drastic enough to change our FTB but it changed our percentage for child care.
