Default Chefs/cooks in Sydney

Hi heading out to Sydney in November on a PR visa,work in the industry catering for 25 years and would be looking a job as a chef /cook.I have my city and guilds 706/1 +706/2 +other catering certificates,could anybody tell me is there a lot of work for cooks in this field of catering and what there wages are ?Cheers Andy

Hi Andy,

I'm not an expert, my son is a first year apprentice chef, but there always seems to be great demand for chef's over here, so hopefully finding work shouldn't be too hard for you.

Try looking on www.seek.com.au this is where we found my son's latest apprenticeship.

Can't really advice about wages, but I am hoping if I bump this back up to the top for you, someone else maybe able to help you.

There are loads of adverts for chefs and all sorts of kitchen staff in the Manly Daily too. I would imagine you'd find a job pretty quickly.
