Default Checklist For Removal Quotes?

Im just about to start getting quotes from removal companies and this is something I know nothing about Can anyone tell me the things I need to check that are included in the quote, but also things they are likely to include, that I dont really need or can get cheaper elsewhere, ie insurance.

Hoping to get a company that will sort it out door to door, that seems to be the easiest method, I think!

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Jo

Hi I copied a list of questions from Timk not long ago as we have just started getting our quotes. Not very good at directing to other threads so I will just type it.

Is price fixed?
What is not included in price?
Is storage in UK/AUS included, if not how much?
Is AQIS fee included?
When do shipping company need forward address?
Is it 20' or 20' reefer container? Reefer is smaller.
Who packs and unpacks?
Customs- What not to bring.
Customs- Clearance time.
Can goods arrive first?
Time before it leaves UK?
Notice needed for booking?
Insurance- What % and what is covered and when coverage starts/ends?
Insurance- Can you pick individual items or whole container?
Insurance- Do we have to take theirs?
Insurance- How long to check for damage?
Do wardrobes, drawers need to be emptied?
Dismantle beds?
Is packing removed and can boxes be kept?

You will find that most agents will cover most of the above with out being asked but having a list of questions for prompts is helpful.

Hope this is helpful and thanks To Timk originally.
Richie.
