Check in online with 40kg luggage allowance?
Hi, Im just wondering if we can check in online, or whether, in order to get our 40kgs of luggage allowance (Singapore airlines) we need to checkin at the desk so they can see our permanant unvalidated visa and the confirmation email they sent us? I know when youve checked in online you still need to go to a desk to hand over your luggage, but not sure whther they need to know that we are bringing 40kg at the checkin stage.

We checked in online to get the seats we wanted and then just handed over the 40kgs+ of luggage we had at the airport. No problems at all.

Hiya, I know it's been said but just to add weight to the claim...... we're doing exactly the same thing. on-line check-in, migrant baggage allowance approved at check-in desk. Singapore airlines' own help desk told me to do this. They also said that the migrant baggage allowance is equivalent to double that of other passengers as long as your visa is 'unused' e.g. first visit.
