The Cheapest "mobile" calls would be from Orange at 16 cents per minute plus a 25 cents flag fall,

I think they could well be the cheapest for a short call. say of 5-10 mins duration, Not taking into account any special deals with a phone company etc etc.

I generally use a phone card though, someone like Global dial, at 1 cent, or thereabouts, per minute, trouble with that system is if a person is out, and you cop a answering machine, you are hit with a 70 cent connection fee.

Then there are those VoiP calls one can make.... a bit too restricitive as one has to have Broadband, and be close to their computer.

I'll be looking at this thread with Interest.

Hi,

I've found a fantastic source for cheap calls to the UK. (or anywhere else in the world)
Check out the website www.talkcards.com.au
There are lots of phone cards to choose from - depending on what type of calls you want to make.
You can buy on-line - they will text or email you your account number and PIN - and you're off. I paid $10 for my first one, and when I called the UK I was told I had over 8hrs of talk time available!
The amount of time your money buys you depends on the time of day you're callling, and if you're calling a mobile or a land line.

Personally - I think its great!

W.
