Well, yes, we would have room for the 6 of you... but we're on the wrong
side of the continent - Brisbane.

Hi Shona & Michael

Have a look at www.bridgetheworld.com
We used them in 2000 for 2 adults and 2 children from January to march and it cost around £1800, it was with garuda airlines which were warned off a bit but they were just as good as the other airlines I have used, and they served up different meals for the kids. I even booked it over the internet
Enjoy your stay while you are there

Hi Again
Just been checking some sites but because your oldest kids are over 11 you are gonna end up paying full price for them making it more expensive. Another site my other half found the other day was www.kangarooclub.co.uk
I think you will just have to keep on searching until you can find a cheap deal... if you can leave it nearer the time you are going then they usually come down, other sites are airline network, austravel, cheapflights.com... just keep on trying till you find one thats right for you.... good luck

Hi there. My Mum flew out here with Emirates last year and said they were exceptionally good. They have a very good reputation. However, and maybe its just me, but with the escalating trouble (USA/Iraq) right now I wouldn't fancy flying with any airline that had the remotest connection with the Middle East. regards adelaidegirl

i wouldnt worry too much about Emirates Airlines - the UAE are extremely pro-british, and i cant see the Iraqis shooting down an Arab Airline - wouldnt do the pro-arab coalition much good would it ? Would venture to suggest that it may be one of the safer airlines to travel with as well (this coming from having lived in the UAE / Oman for a while too).

Your best bet is home exchange sites on internet , they may charge a small fee for a swap you may even get use of a car.Perth has a large Scottish population who would be glad to swap homes for a few weeks its worth a try.Good luck
http://www.homeexchange.com/index.html

http://www.homelink.org/
On the last one just put home exchanges in seach box will find homes for you.

Hi Shona,

Try www.ebookers.com they look about the
cheapest that I've seen, play
around with the dates to get the cheapest deal if you're not too fussy about
particular dates.

By the way, where abouts in Glasgow are you from? I'm in Uddingston, just
outside Glasgow.

Alright Shona!

I phoned Trailfinders yesterday (we have loads of vouchers from the wedding) and they said that BA have some cool deals -30th Jan for example- Mcr to Perth was about £330 per person one way which i thought was as cheap as chips.

I would love to fly Virgin as they sound fab. BA ok and Quantas ok but have heard really good reports about both Singapore and Emirates.

Speak to you soon

Love
Nic

Shona,

Hoping to go to Perth, but it will be a while - we're just starting out on
the long road to emigration! My wife's a psychiatric nurse so we're applying
with her as the main applicant. I believe you're a nurse aren't you? Forgive
me, but I've been reading a lot of posts on this ng over the last couple of
months and I almost feel as though I know some of the posters better than I
do my own family.
I read recently that you were having second thoughts about going - it's only
natural. It must all seem a bit unreal until you finally get the visas
through and then it's a case of, "Christ, what have we done". But i take it
from your question about flights that you're going to validate your visas, I
think that's the best idea, gives you the option of moving in the next few
years if you decide that's what you want to do.

Whereabouts are you thinking of heading when you get to Oz?

All the best,

Colin
