Cheap Accomodation in Cairns Southside??
 

Just wondering if anyone can recommend somewhere to stay when we first get out to Cairns in march? I will be working in Mulgrave Road...Earlville end so as near to as possible, or within cycling distance. Would be nice to stay somewhere with a pool...any suggestions? Just 2 adults so apartment, studio etc would be fine.

I used to work on Mulgrave Rd, Earlville at Stocklands Shopping Centre. Can't really help as the info I have would be about 6 years out of date but you shouldn't have any trouble, as I recall there was always a plethora of choices there. Had a quick look and this website seemed to have a list of places whose names I can recall. http://www.cairnsapartments.com.au/

Good luck - I would love to be coming back to Cairns, but first need to try Brissie for the hubby.

cairns one. its on mulgrave rd and would suit your needs. big new complex. pools , gym, restaurants etc.

As there's only two of you and no kids you could always stay at a smaller hostel to save a little more money for when you come to buy yourselves? JJ's backpackers is on the outskirts of the town with a small pool and kitchen so you can cook your own meals and it's within walking distance of the Lagoon and Town Centre. It's a fairly small backpackers and much more welcoming than others can be. They also do a free shuttle to and from the town centre if you're feeling lazy? :D

Thanks for all the replies. Will look at cairns one..Youngy..you still up for that mountain bike ride in April???? I have 3/4 built my mountain bike now..specialised M4 full suspension frame and xtr componenets ..may make me ride a bit better!!
