Jimmy Reid passed away
I'm not a union man, but this guy did Glasgow proud.

Re: A Character passes away
Agreed - I didn't agree at all with his politics but he stood up for what be believed in and never wavered. He was also an intelligent and thoughtful man who probably didn't achieve all he was capable of.
I would imagine be would have been disgusted with the spin from New Labour. A sad loss to be honest. |
Re: A Character passes away
I wasn't familiar with him until just now. Seems sad that he didn't rise as high as some others in the 1970s Labour/Unions/Communist milieu in Scotland.

Re: A Character passes away
I met him a few times when i was verrrryyy young , he was a friend of my dads, i used to think it strange at the time coz he was so young and my dad so old:) but they obviously shared the same politics.
