Default Channel 7 TV Guide

So I have tickets to watch the men's semi-finals of the Brisbane International Tennis tomorrow (Saturday) but when I switch on the tv the guide tells me that they are now showing "Day 5 live coverage includes semi-finals of the men's and women's singles...". I thought **** I've bought the wrong tickets! It was only after watching a few minutes of the coverage that I realised that they were playing the men's quarter-finals (correctly). Again, the tv guide falls down on providing useful and timely information. Is this likely to improve when Freeview "takes off"?

I am very confused by all this freeview talk as we have had loads of freeview channels since getting our digital TV at the beginning of last year. From the advertising it looks like they are advertising exactly what we have had for many months.

The programme guide on there is terrible though. Sometimes it brings up nothing for some channels and often it is wrong, especially on the HD channels.

We are hoping to get foxtel with the hope that their programme guide would be better.

Freeview is just a marketing ploy. It's basically three channels from five broadcasters ABC, SBS, 7, 9 and 10. I do hope they tidy up their act soon otherwise I will have to read the tv guide from the internet again.
Foxtel is such a rip off.

BUT foxtel has UK tv. And news channels (although I may be expecting too much there).

telly is crap and mind numbing. make some friends and socialise.
2 and a half men is good though, although with the scheduling here, Jake goes from 9 to 14 overnight!

Yes I noticed that and find it more annoying how they repeat episodes and call them "all new".

channel 7 followed by channel 9 are the worst for chopping and changing as far as programs go. Buying a TV mag is almost a waste of money as you are better off checking the internet on the day/night. Even the EPG (digital program guide) can be out on the night - it can drive you mad if you let it.
