Default changing mortgage

we had our friendly financial advisor around last night and we are changing our mortage, all be it for a few months and cashing in the endowments. We will be saving around £500 permonth which can be put towards the flights and removals etc.

We were quite surprised that our endowments were worth anything due to the low rates etc.

I couldn't believe it when our advisor told us he was trying to emigrate to Aus as well! He lived out there for a year when he was younger and thinks it is a great place to live.

It seems to be contagious this emigrating lark!!

Did you check the market value for your endowments? Usually not good for early-in-term but if (say) you'd paid 15 years out of 20, you can get very good offers elsewhere.
