Question change in circs - visa in passport

Guys

Wonder if anyone can help - originally posted on Go matilda but no response. Didnt want to bother case officer so thought I would bother you guys instead!! hope you dont mind.

Visas have been granted but not stamped in passport yet

Just got married - Should I just retain my passport with maiden name and have it stamped - I think it would be simpler! - any thoughts? Although I would like if possible to get a new passport.

secondly - I appreciate I need to submit a change in circumstances form - but can I still submit my passport for visa stamping?

Any advice/info would be gratefully received.

ps visas granted 1 month ago dont need to be in Oz until June 2005

Thanks in advance

I had my visa stamped in my maiden name passport, then a year down the line got a new passport in my married name. I asked DIMIA what I should do they said as long as you carry your old passport with your new one you're fine, oh and make sure that when they cut the corner on the old passport they don't cut any pages, ie. they don't cut through the visa itself, as this will render it invalid.

Hope this helps.

Post this again on immigration forum. JAJ looks in a lot and will give best advice. Although I think he normally recommends getting the new passport first and putting visa in that. Makes life easier further down the line.

A new passport before visa stamping makes life simpler. Did you apply for migration as a single or as a de-facto couple?
