Thumbs up Chance to go & suss things out - what d'ya think folks?

Howdy everyone who knows me.
I've got the chance to go to Perth & check things out but only for 8 days or so.(18/9/02 - 27/9/02)
My other half, Micky, has already been over last year to Iluka (near Joondalup) . He thinks, cos I've got the opportunity, that I should check it out too.
There's 2 adults and 4 kids migrating (14, 12, 6 and 2 yrs)
Would be migrating Jan/Feb 2003 anyway so what's the point?
Is it money worth spending considering the length of time i'd be there????????

hey shona its shaun
i know you have had the occasional doubt so go for it and have a quick look round.
when we went out earlier this year, i hadnt even mentioned to lor about migrating, but i was hoping to spring it on her when we got back.
but after only a couple of days being there she said to me, why cant we come and live out here.
oh i did a great job of looking supprised and said well if you really want to we prob could, i havent thought about it.
so if you have a look round, im sure it will ease your worrys, and you can have a good xmas, telling friends and family truthfully how much your looking forward to going.
and if you dont like it at least you have a few months to turn micky around. (though im sure that wont happen)
you are talking about going without the kids i assume?
good luck in whatever you decide shaun and lor xxxx

Hi Shona,

If you've got the dosh go for it. Any fears you may have about homes, schools etc can be eased if you see things for yourself. It's one thing seeing it on video but another actually being there. Just think if you're going yourself it might be a nice wee break!

What ever you decide have fun doing it.

Ginny.

Hi Shona
We had a similar situation ourselves in that my wife had been before (and I hadn't) and we were going to move there anyway (Sydney).

So, it was decided (well after we had our visas) that I go alone to check it out, just to 'make sure'. As it turned out, I didn't go alone, as a mate from work begged his wife to go with me!

I thought that it was definately worth going for the trip, even though your stay duration will be less, as I got a feel of the place (sounds a bit corny I know! but you can't get it from a photo, book or someones story).

Looking at it worst case, if you do dislike it (for whatever reason) then you have only lost the cost of the trip (+ application, medicals, etc etc...) + spendies.

However, if you love it (which I suspect you will), then it's even more exciting for the big day!

Also, think you'll be surprised how much you can fit into a week if you try.

Good luck, and if you can spare the cash, go for it!

ian
