Default Cats in Sydney

Think I read somewhere that cat owner have a duty to keep their cats in at night in Sydney because of the danger posed to small native animals.
We have two cats who we are bringing with us in June and although they generally sleep indoors each night, they have always had the freedom to come and go as they please.

Does anyone know if it is law that they have to be kept indoors after a certain time??

Don's tip: Take off any identifying marks eg collar/ microchip/ stainmark (lop off an ear or two, the cats will just think they've been in a fight!) and nobody will know you're the owner so you won't get a fine anyway.
