Default Catholic schools in cairns

Looking at the education link for schools in cairns apart from the private school in white rock they all seem to be catholic. Does anyone no what the schools are like in terms of how much religion they throw at the kids?

I dont want to offend any catholics but im not one, and dont want my daughters education to be biased based on the catholic beliefs. For example science, is it taught from all veiw points ie evolution (Darwins theory) or just from the god perspective?

Trying to decide to go state or independant.

In that case a Roman Catholic school is almost certainly not the right option, whatever the other options are.

The whole reason the Roman Catholic church wants to have its own schools is mainly to ensure that children are taught "catholic beliefs". By contrast, most Protestant churches put more emphasis on Sunday School, for children to learn at church instead.

While there will be some religious instruction, the days of fire n brimstone have passed.

Depends on the school really. Some religious schools are flexible in dealing with children of a different denomination or faith (or none) while others are not.
