Default Carpet Python in the roof

We are about to put our house on the market. Should we tell any prospective buyers that we have a lodger ?
We discovered we had " Percy Python " as a resident about 3 winters ago. We saw him/her sliding along one of the beams of the veranda and into the roof right outside our bedroom. Mr. D L has a phobia about snakes so totally freaked when he saw it. He immediately rushed into the house to check that there were no holes in any of the ceilings where it could come down and " take him " during the night. It tends to come and go a lot during the summer -just leaves a discarded skin somewhere. It's great for keeping any rats away. Does anyone think this will put people off ?

Should be a distinct advantageous sales point if you enthuse.

No we can't unfortunately as we are moving to WA. Think it will be too cold around the Perth area. We will be driving across - can you imagine Mr DL with that in the back of his cruiser LOL. We also have a cockatoo that goes on our travels with us. Can't imagine he would be too happy either.

Id only keep quiet if it was someone from the UK that was buying it. You only have to look at the responses to this thread to see that

Most aussies wouldnt be too worried about it, but if in doubt just dont say anything .

How cool is that!!! I am a snake lover, venomous or none venomous not really bothered. Diamond pythons are so placid, you may have some problems with it, as there maybe a few people may run for there car. Good luck with the house sale.

Thanks.
We have about 6 acres in the bush and have regularly seen red bellied blacks and occasional browns. Certainly won't mention those but anybody that lives in rural areas knows that they are about in the summer months. We have made sure that the place is always well mowed and there is never stuff lying around that they can hide under and we never ever allow them to come anywhere near the house area. We get the " snake charmer " out !!

I did a Aussie snake project with my son last year and understand from the material we were reading, that most houses in QLD and NSW upper region bushy areas have pythons in them at one time or another. It's such a common phenomena (especially during winter), that the books listed suburban homes as part of the normal territory
of these snakes I shouldn't worry about declaring a "fixed feature" if I were you. You're not declaring every wardrobe too are you?
