Carpenters in Perth, QLD or Sydney, where is best???

I have been in Perth now for 1 month and i work in the building trade as a carpenter. I have not started working here yet but have been looking around at new house builds and there is no where near as much timber work in them as back in the UK. The windows are metal and fitted by the brickies !! loads of roofs are metal and there are no skirtings or window cills fitted as standard.
I have spoke to a carpenter who has his own business and thinks that there is more work for carpenters in Queensland. - Houses in Perth are brick built where as in Qld most are timber built.
Now i am thinking should i head out there ?
Also the wages here are pretty poor $22 - $25.
Is there work available in Qld and what is the money like ?
Also is there a demand for carpenters in Sydney as i would move there in a minute ?
Can anyone shed some light on this ?
Thanks for any replies.

2nd fixing be the way to go and you should be able to get more than that an hour. More than plenty here in Perth, but like most things its who you know not what you know.

Agree with all that you say. I should be able to get more money if there really is a shortage of tradies, however $25 is my best offer yet !
Like you say it's who you know.
How do you get in the know ?????????
