Carina

I have searched the old threads on this area and the summary seemed mostly positive with the odd negative around crime and schools.
Anyone got any up to date views on the area, facilities, crime etc

Much appreciated

I stay in Carindale which is only just up the road and we've nver heard of any problems. I have friends in Carina and they also have had no issues.

I think you'll get crime where ever you go unfotunately.

No idea about schools as my daughter goes yo one in Mt Gravatt, where we lived previously.

Re: Carina

Carina is set amongst some really nice suburbs and good schools. Carina has a lot of old post war homes that are not as sought after as those in surrounding suburbs (Carina still has a bit of a "state housing" type stigma attached to it). Therefore it's not as good to buy there if you're looking for a higher capital growth (such as adjoining suburb, Camp Hill). But to rent there, it's a pretty good option in my opinion.
