Caravan park/mobile home instead of renting?
Has anyone stayed on a caravan site in a mobile home/static caravan with 2 young kids instead of renting for the first 2 months?
Just been chatting to my Grandad who mentioned it, that way were not tied into a 6 month contract.
Going to look up cost etc. but just wondered if anyone else is considering this and any opinions?

Or can anyone recommend any good websites? Preferably cheap sites, just searched and the expensive 'treat yourself to a holiday' chalets are coming up!

That would help to know where we are looking at Thinking of The Sunshine Coast - Queensland, or near - depending on where oh gets a job, and also The Hunter Valley - New South Wales, or there abouts again

Hi this is a great idea, we spent a year travelling around Oz in caravan parks we did land on a few which at the time seemed a bit dodgy but this was due to the fact that they were pretty much just for permanents so they were like gypsy sites, but in reality get to know the people and they are fine. If you would want a bit of comfort and safety for your family then maybe stick to Big4 sites which are all pretty much great

We stayed in one of the big4 caravan parks when we arrived, we only stayed there for 2 weeks and to be honest we were glad to get out of it. It can be a little claustophobic after a while
But they are great for until you manage to get yourself sorted with a rental, and it's like being on holiday

Hmm, have had a look but the prices are coming up similar to renting a house But we'd still do that for a couple of months, save having to furnish a rented house straight away!

Yes, they can be pricey. Try to negotiate a 'special deal' if you are going to stay there for a long period (more than a few weeks ). If you don't ask, you don't get
