Car Rental - Brisbane Airport
Hiya everyone
Hopefully going over to Brisbane in April , for 3 weeks.
Can anyone recommend a reliable and friendly rental car firm which operate at the airport? Oh they need to be a reasonable price as well!
Cheers

I have used both Hertz and Thrifty and can recommend both. Little tip for you tho, the fuel prices are up and down like a pair of loose knickers so if you get offered to 'buy' the fuel at less than $1 per litre then do it, you dont have to return the car with a full tank then. Prices as of 10th Feb are $1.08 - $1.10.

When we arrived in Brisbane for the first time we hired a card from:-
IDEAL RENTAL CARS
34 Holland St
Northgate, Brisbane Qld 4013
Ph +61 7 3266 3448
http://www.idealrentalcars.com.au/
We hired a magna estate for a month. We needed a large car to move all our stuff and we were moving into a empty house so needed to go and buy some white goods and furniture. One month gave us enough time to buy a new one. They were far cheaper than anyone else, mind new don't expect a new car. It is run by David & Suzy Ross who come from up north somewhere, like Barnsley, but don't let that put you off!
We moved two years ago but the picture on the website looks as if it's the same one we drove then.

Strangly some include some airport charges, but then the in-town ins't much difference, and some are the same.. http://www.budget.com.au , http://www.europcar.com.au/ they'll all appear to have airport and central brisbane locations

Thrifty for us were superb! - not the cheapest mind....one to avoid Abel...biggest bunch of crooks!!! YOU WILL NOT GET THE VEHICLE YOU WANTED..and because they get you off the airport before telling you ...you either have to accept what they are offering...or lump it!!! they were quite cheap though!

Re: Car Rental - Brisbane Airport
have a look at www.diycarhire.com.au - they have a system that allows you enter the dates you need the car, then compare rates from all the major suppliers on one screen - saves a lot of mucking around searching a lot of websites. I have used them and couldn't fault them. all the major companies have a desk at the airport - be aware that the airports charge a levy for businesses that operate in their premises - it can be as high as 11% of the total hire cost so if you don't mind the extra effort and want the car for a while, you might be best to catch a cab or bus into the city to collect your hire car

Re: Car Rental - Brisbane Airport
We just used East coast car rentals, was the cheapest I could find for a newer car, they did try to push their extra insurance on us though as all the companies do, big con.

Just out from the Airport on the junction of Airport drive and Nudgee is Able I think, but beside that is another that I can't remember the name of that were great with us. The car was a new pulsar, and I mean 13Ks on the clock, they were cheap and very helpfull.
