Default Car loans- Which bank ?

The 1995 Mitsubishi Magna is coming to the end of its days. It has served us pretty well as our fist car in Oz. We are looking to buy a newish car 2000/03 model. Maybe a commodore or a Mazda 6 or similar.

Has anybody applied for a car loan and if so which bank did you go with and what fees did you pay :scared: Are all banks interest rates the same/similar. Is HP/finance a better way to go?

Any tips?

Pete

Our first bank account is with the CBA, Mortgage with ANZ, and no car loan but we have a motorbike loan!

You are right it is difficult to know which way to go...

if renting...... HP/Finance is possibly the far easier

if mortgage....ask mortgage company for extra on loan - by far the cheapest but possibly difficult.

if going HP/Finance then shop around and tell the car place you are buying from you are looking for finance but not going to buy today....(Husband worked in new car sales the last two years)....then make them drop the rates!

Anyway I am not the best person to talk to...husband is....email me on this site and I will get him to tell you about it if you are interested.

Cheers Sandra
