Default Car Insurance Costs / Learner Age

The post on New Cars prompted me ask this, but how do car Insurance costs compare an Aus. For example, I've a 60% No Claims Bonus and pay £550 per year for a Rover 620si fully comp SDP only and £350 for a Peugeut 405 1.6 fully comp SDP plus 10000 business miles.
Can anyone give any rough cost comparisons from over there.

Also, what is the age in SA at which you can learn to drive?

Thanks.
