Car insurance from bingle.com.au
Just doing the yearly trawl around the car insurance industry for a cheaper quote, and came across www.bingle.com.au. Has anybody out there used them? Are they any good?
The reason I am asking is that their quote is almost exactly half the price of the quote for renewal that I have from my existing company. So what's the catch? They don't do monthly instalments, but to be honest, with that sort of discount I can afford to pay up front for the year.
Any thoughts?

Funny that - I've just done the very same thing and am also wondering about them. Thing is that they are underwritten by AAMI so you should be safe BUT... all contact is online and hubby has serious concerns about not being able to speak to someone (if you reeaaallly need to).
I saw them last year but we decided against it because we thought they were new. I'll wait to see if you get any response but me may risk it this year.......

I noticed they were underwritten by AAMI, so that is good I guess.
I think I may take a punt with them, and see how I get on...

Our subaru arrives on the ship this weekend and we are going to take out our insurance with them they are 50% cheaper than our old insurer Vero and they are $150 cheaper than the cheapest quote we got from Budget.
As they are underwritten by AAMI we are gonna give them a go and they are internet only so I think they pass the savings onto the consumer. About time someone came onto the market to bring some competition to the others.

Beware and choose carefully. Customer service is crap enough here without having to deal with a subsidiary office regardless of whether they are underwritten by a big company or not. Its dealing with them that counts not the size of their back up.

I'd recommend AAMI 110% - why go through another middle man? May be cheaper but when it comes to claiming, AAMI are excellent.

I'm the marketing manager for Bingle, so can help answer some of your questions.
We're cheaper because:
1. You buy and manage your policy online, and because you do some of the wok in managing your policy yourself, it's cheaper.
2. We cut out some of the expensive options and extras that very few people use
3. Premiums are paid annually only, which is easier and cheaper for Bingle to administer.
Bingle is underwritten by AAMI, and if you have to make a claim, repairs have a lifetime guarantee - so we don't cut corners on what really matters, getting your car repaired properly and back on the road.
We know we're not for everyone, but we are serious about giving a lower cost option and we feel this is the best way to do it.
Hope this helps.
