Car Hire? How long is a piece of string?

Oula,

Going to book a motor, something racey, go faster stripes, spoiler, pull down hood, the works!:D

Me and the queen cruising the strip, no time to eat, pot noodle in one hand, steering wheel in the other!;)

Neen to buy a car when we get there next week, have around $5k, maybe $6k at a push. I know, not alot, but thats it, its just the way it is! Could have stayed in saved a few more worthless squids, but well its up the wall now, so no good worrying about it!

How long do you all think it will take me to find a decent car!

I know, i will do a poll?

Cheers.

I wouldn't hire a car from the airport, you get clobbered with a higher rate. Either get the train down or a cab then hire one on the coast - East Coast Rentals are good, they have offices in Surfers and Tugun (near GC airport). As for buying one, seriously, you could do it in a day or it could take a month. Have you been looking on http://www.carsales.com.au/ to see what's about? Shame you haven't got a bit more money, a friend has just had to head back and we've got her car sitting on our drive waiting for a buyer.

When you get here, the biggest (not necessarily the best) range is down Ferry Road/Bundall Road Southport - shed loads of used dealerships.

Have a look at carsales.com.au before you leave, if you haven't already, you just need a postcode to search your area . . .

Southport is 4215 if that helps (fairly central).

:D

Keith, (John) if you ring East Coast Rentals from your accommodation, they will come and pick you up and take you to the office to sort out the rental. The others probably do the same but I've not used any of the others so don't know for sure
