Are you renting? There are a couple of providers that i know do good value contents for renters (as opposed to Home and Contents packages for home owners).

I'm with AAMI www.aami.com.au - renter's insurance

also NRMA offer a similar package

www.nrma.com.au.

Car insurance is variable do a search from www.ratecity.com.au to find a few companies and then get a few quotes

RACV are probably competitive.

AAMI only provide you with 25k Australians worth of cover for your contents as standard no moving up nor down in cover.

If you add everything up it may not come to that but as you know your insurer won't pay 25k exactly if you think you have 25k exactly for example.

I would over insure yourself slightly and go for contents and not renters insurance.

Try Allianz.com.au

Very competitive.

I recently moved to Victoria and got by far and away my cheapest car insurance quote from Youi. RACV were I think the most expensive.

To be honest I found the Ratecity comparison tool next to useless as the actual quotes differed vastly from their guesstimates.

That AAMI renters policy appears to be aimed at the sharers market, with that fixed sum insured of $25,000.
AAMI Fire and Theft Contents Insurance allows for multiple separate policies per household, so there’s no need to rely on your housemates to organise your insurance
I have a normal contents policy with AAMI, and find them to be pretty competitive.
However, premiums change around each year, so to get the lowest premium would mean changing insurers each year. Can't be bothered these days, and just stick with a good one.

I obviously don't own as much as you lot! I am nowhere near $25,000 and the big ticket items I have receipts for.

It depends on individual circumstances!

We are with AAMI for car, contents and buildings. Had to claim 4 times over the past 3 months and they are dealing/dealt with each claim quickly and efficiently. Recommended.
