You will have to pay the earth for a campervan in australia and they are crap, not the same as in the uk where you can buy a cheap american camper for 10 thousand pounds here the same one will cost 50-60 thousand pounds

We bought a great little Toyota Hiace Discoverer Conversion for $14K off ebay and its great. Yeah its done quite a few kms, but for a well maintained Toyota thats nothing.
I think the point is we are talking campervan, not motorhome.
In Sydney, they have a back packers car market where people sell up before flying home/onwards, but these really are the 'low end' of the market. May be there is something similar in Perth? or good old ebay?

Cheers all, for the feedback, I have added that link for Aberdeen Auctions to my Favs' and I'll check them out when we get there.
Also, of course! Total never thought, eBay.. Always worth a try.

also try www.gumtree.com as we bought our campervan of there for $8000 and travelled for a year in it, yes its only a mazda poptop but they have everything in apart from toilet and shower and we had a great time in it,
It was the best decision we did travelling for a year as you learn so much about the country and poeple we did 32000km ,started in cairns and went anti clockwise because it was april and getting colder down south did`nt get to perth till mid sept ( still bloody cold )
an experiance we will never forget ( cant wait to do it again )
