Car Buyers in Perth
During my reccie in August I thought I would buy a car within a couple of days of landing so that I don't have to pay hiring fees for 4 weeks - I'm going to need one anyway in January 2011! I could keep it at friend's house from Sept to January.
My question is that is it as easy as I have just made out - I'm sure there are systems in place to prevent this?

Car buying is very easy ... 
We even bought one before we arrived in Australia and it was ready and waiting for us on Day 1.
We used a car broker: www.carbroker.com.au
Obviously, if you decide to buy a second-hand car, you will want to check it over yourself, but you can still do that by using the above car broker. Much easier than trekking around different car dealer sites.
