Default Capital Investment in Australia

Hi All,

1st post, just found this site. Please be gentle.

We are aiming for a skilled independant 136 visa.

I have a question about the capital investment in Australia, from booklet 6

"You must invest a minimum of $100,000 in an approved government investment for a term of at least 12 months"

We need these 5 bonus points to reach 120.

Does the visa get awarded / progress as soon as the investment is made or upon completion of the 12 months.

This may be the start of many questions.

thanks in advance.

HI & WELCOME!!

Your bond request will be requested a month or so after your meds have been received by DIMIA. Once you`ve lodged your bond it can take up to a month for your visas to be granted.

Hope this helps

Welcome to the mad house.

Once your here, you cant go back. Once you lodge your Bond, its in the hands of the gods when you get your visa. Generally it can take around 6 weeks from lodgement of bond to visa.

Good luck with your application. Update your signature profile on here and show your time line. Helps everyone understand where you are in the process.

Thanks Sue,

Just to be sure.

After our application goes in, some time later DIMIA requests our medical checks, a month later the investment is requested, a month later visa is granted.

Wow. Our house may be getting sold quicker than we thought about.

bye Graeme (these smilies are great!)

Hiya

The timescale does differ

Main application went in Oct...our meds were requested in Nov, meds were done in Jan (that was how soon we could get them done), our bond request (which got lost in post) came in March we lodged our bond 29th March and we got our visas granted today.

If I can help any more just say

Sue
