Canning Vale

Hi guys,

Been offered a job in a company based in Canning Vale.

Never really thought of living near there yet, just wondered if anyone lived near here and what the area is like etc...

We have 2 young kids (6 & 4), what are the house prices like, schools etc...

Ideally we were going to head north of the river towards Jundaloop.

Any advice welcome

Regards,

That's exactly the same situ as us :)

My OH has an opportunity to work in Canning Vale and we plan to live in Mindarie. A friend drove from here to there in the rush hour and said it took him 45 mins. So that's not a bad journey

Dunno if that helps

It's not a bad area, although not for me. Quite modern with endless new-type Aussie suburbs. Lot's of Asian people live there. There are worse places to live in Perth.

Well it's up to the air traffic controllers I suppose and since some light planes can't fly over the city they would have to do a detour...

My hubby is going to be working in canning Vale too. We drove around the burb and it seems pleasant enough but much, much more expensive than neighbouring suburbs and I couldn't figure out why.

Where you gonna be working?

Haven't accepted the job yet, just going to keep our options open. It could be another 6 months or more until we get our visa's and then we have to sell the house etc...Its just another iron in the fire, but it is nice to know that there are jobs available if you look hard enough.

It all depends which route one takes. I guess in a non rush hour situation I would do the Mitchell car park (freeway), Kwinana car park (freeway) then onto South Street/ Ranford Road. I guess that could be done in under an hour.

Rush hour I would take the Mitchell then onto Reid Road which then turns into the Tonkin Highway, take a right after the airport onto the Roe Highway. Lot of traffic around in rush hour, there are a shit load of traffic lights to encounter.....maybe an hour and a half.

To the OP, Canning Vale is alright, I live in Leeming (which has easy and hassle free access to the main roads) so we're neighbours. Would I live there? No, it's a nightmare in rush hour just getting out of the suburb onto the main arteries...

One plus point if travelling from Mindarie is the Industrial Area in Canning Vale is much easier to get to and from as it's right on the Roe Highway so one doesn't have to negotiate suburbia.

Thank you all for correcting me. It won't be me doing this journey! I guess my OH will have to see if he wants do do this journey, it will only be for a few months, whilst we look for a more permanent surburb to live in.

Cheers
